In the midst of the opioid crisis, a new book by a pharmacist and pharmacists activist has gained traction in the country.

Dugherty’s Pharmacy: The Story of the Pharmaceutical Industry in the Trump Era offers a rare insight into how pharma and pharmacy have fared under President Donald Trump.

The book, co-written by the author of The Pharmacist’s Way, was released by the Drug Policy Alliance this month.

“Dughers’ Pharmacy is the story of the drug industry under a Trump presidency, from its earliest days, through the early days of the Trump administration and the current moment,” the book says.

“Its goal is to inform, not educate, readers about the drug and pharma industry.

Its authors speak from personal experience, both personal and professional, to help readers understand what the Trump era has meant for the pharmaceutical industry.”

Dugherys Pharmacy has already been praised by critics.

In an opinion piece for The New York Times, David E. Smith, the author and founder of the National Drug Policy Coalition, called the book a “must-read.”

“Derek Dugherty’s book is a riveting read that is worth your time,” Smith wrote.

“It is a remarkable book and deserves to be shared widely.”

The book is available in hardcover, paperback and e-book.
